When You Can’t Go Any Further West

How far would you go to see the perfect sunset? For us, it was 5 miles down a rutted and extremely bumpy road through a cane field to get to Polihale Beach. It was highly recommended to go by 4WD, but we made the trip with 2 Dodge Caravans.

Our group of 9 people, along with about dozen other people on our one mile stretch of beach (of the almost 17 miles of sand and dunes) witnessed an incredible sunset.

For more information on the beach at Polihale State Park, visit here. I highly recommend a trip to the beach if the weather is dry. I hear that the state closed the road due to flooding on August 25th. Hopefully, they will have it repaired soon.
