For those of you that do not know me personally yet, I just wanted to make a short introduction. My full legal name is Charles Roland Plyler. I am named after two of my uncles, but have gone by “Charlie,” all my life, even though quite a few good friends will throw a “Chuck” in there, quite frequently.
I was born in Jackson, Mississippi, but moved to Florence, MS my junior year of high school. I still thank God that we made that move. My first job was there. I bagged groceries in our town’s only grocery store. It was in that small store, my life would be changed forever. I would meet my future wife, a new cashier named, Lu Ann, from Star, MS. I have been seeing stars and fireworks every since.
Lu Ann and I dated for five years before marrying shortly after college. In November, we will celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary.
Shortly after the birth of our first son, Ryne, we moved to Mobile and purchased a home in Mobile, AL in 1993. We did not know a soul here, but came to open an insurance office. Just eleven months later, our second son, Hayden, was born. Having an infant AND a 13-month-old will scare you to death. Fortunately, we had already found a great church home at Christ United Methodist Church. The members of our Sunday School class have not only been friends, but our Family, here in Mobile. It is truly hard to believe that those two little babies in diapers are already 24 and 25 years old.
The purpose of this blog will be for me to share “My Dash” with you. I will share my interests, my passions, my thoughts, my talents and my strengths with the readers of this blog. Please feel free to share your own comments and stories as we move forward.

I love meeting and sharing stories with new friends. With his diverse hobbies of photography, SCUBA, and travel, there is always plenty to share. I also feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to chair the Community Relations committee for the Mobile Area Association of REALTORS recently. The Committee is always very active in the Community. I hope to see you in person soon.
